After reading the commencement address of Steve Jobs at Stanford University I have learned that to be a successful person or an entrepreneur one much first know what his/her heart desires most. Because when a person do so, he/she would not be bothered if his/her business fails for that person has a full trust on the business he/she started. Having the kind of business you love most will let you improved yourself to be suited for the business that a person is on to. It will let the person do his/her best in everyday life as if it was the last his/her last day on earth as what i have comprehend on the commencement address of Steve Jobs. Also being a successful person or an entrepreneur one was first realize or think of what wrong things he/she have done for the days of his/her that might be or possibly be one of the factors that could help him/her to be a productive entrepreneur.

The Commencement of Steve Jobs is truly and undeniably fascinating and inspiring, inspiring that it let think that to be a successful entrepreneur, one don't need to have a high educational attainments, the only that should be needed is that you love your business and whenever you fall you a have the courage to start all over again.

My Purpose Is..

From the beginning of our existence in this world, we the creations of GOD has a purpose embarked in us. A purpose that that even we us the creations ask for ourselves. A question that can be answered when we have struggled so much suffering or down moment of our lives.

Likewise in my situation, I finally figured out what is my purpose for existing in this wretched world. I exist because I want to be a successful person with all the wealth and fortunes achieved by great hardworking, To be a role model to my siblings and finally to become a honorable son to my beloved parents.

Last August 14,2010 (hope that I am right?hehe) S’ Randy gave us a questions that could determine if we were a student’s that could become or has the ability of becoming great or we could say a successful technopreneur someday, not only that it could also somehow determine if you’re not or you are a student that has some characteristics to become a technopreneur. On that day 32 items are showed which the instruction was to pick or to choose only A or B in every number. Everyone on that day was dreadfully serious choosing between A or B, because as what you pick or choose there is an equivalent to it. I was trembled choosing my desired answer because everything is seems to be fitting in my personality, yet I have remained calm for I was thinking that this is only a test to identify to ourselves if we had such characteristics of becoming a TECHNOPRENEUR someday.
As it goes all the way to the final stages, I was astonished with the result of my test. It resulted that I somehow possess such trait of being a business minded person or being a Technopreneur. Having this results I was some kind a having a mix emotion (what the….!!! Heheh), because there is something that bothers me, Is the test really that is valid or not, because a simple test could not possible predict of what kind of person you are, but anyways whether valid or not just go with the flow.
Somehow entrepreneurial, was the result of my personality traits. With this I firmly believe that I do really have a skill or the characteristics that an entrepreneur should have. Now, the field of business is way to different to struggle with, here you are going to start your own business, your own everything. Now before such commotions above, let’s talk first of this characteristic I was talking about. Listed below maybe somehow be classified as the characteristics (which I am talking) that I have possess:

• Kind- I firmly believe that having a kind or being a kind person is a necessary qualities of being an entrepreneur, why I said so? It is because a business handled by a person having such qualities for me could bloom or could soar up high, because once you are kind to others you are being acknowledge by other people that would become a promising customers someday as you take have your business soon. And if you have already a business being kind to others will let them fell that you are a good person that they could return and take another business transaction with you. Which I confidently believe that I possessed for I am kind (not to be presumptuous about this matter) thus, the saying below stated.

• Optimistic- A trait that any entrepreneur should possess. This is where a person has a full confidence on what he is doing or what his business is doing. Being optimistic I big help in the success of everyone, because who would ever think that there business would go wrong and could possibly falls to the worst case “bankruptcy” or “closed”(he he I would hate to think of that as possible as I could). Being such optimistic can let a person or the business man think of any possible ways to solve problems that might occur during the process of the business, as we know panicking would lead to bigger problems and unresolved cases of it. This characteristic , I could somehow relate into it because, I am a person of possible, means that I don’t think bad things that might happen I always to think positively on every circumstances in life because thinking or worrying about something could not solve it. Like what I say thinking something bad or negative would result to unresolved one. As what the saying below states and by reflecting on the saying, we could say that being an optimistic (It may not be clear stated but as what I have comprehend it say something about being in such character) has a great advantage towards problems.

• Open-minded- a trait that I simply possess, this is where I am open to accept ideas of others that I think that could help me improve myself and also when I’m in the business being an open-minded person enables you to come with many ideas that would be a big help in your business and to yourself. Also being an open- minded person can build better relationship to others, because you let them fell that their ideas or suggestions are as precious as jewels that you are thinking that their idea are or could possibly solved problems that might occur during the process of your business. Having this you open up new ideas for the goodness of your business. Well also being an open minded also portray something about myself because I am an open minded person, I accept anything even if it is a harsh word because in the matter of fact receiving such words can be a key for your success because Id others think that your action is too much annoying or too much out of nowhere to can easily strengthen up for the improvement of oneself.

• Risk-taker- this a trait that would test you if you have the courage to gamble what you have just to obtain something that surpasses everything to had already. In this trait you are being test if you have the guts or the courage to do something that might be the reason that you could lose everything, your funded and raised business and capital but if it succeeds you could take or have a double on everything you had. Like what Steve Jobs and Bill Gates did in the movie Pirates of the Silicon Valley. They have showed as that to achieve such desired dreams of us we must have such Characteristics. Because if we remain or we don’t do something to enhanced our started business it will be crushed by other gigantic business. Because in the world of business everything should be done to outstand, outshine and outsourcing other business. Thus, reflecting on the sayings below would help much in understanding what is being a risk-taker is.

• Thinking beyond- lastly thinking beyond means that as an entrepreneur and a leader you should have a perception towards great goals and as a leader you should have think something that can help you improve your business more and can make it more productive than ever. Thinking beyond is also mean that you as an entrepreneur or a businessman think of any possible things or ideas that would be a necessary key in bringing out the best of your business and by doing so you are thinking what is the best for your business to grow and also you as an businessman thinks of something best not only your business but also you are about yourself improvement. Thinking different possibilities not only mean that it brings the best of your business but also you are giving it a new flavor to every customer that would make them to have another transaction in your business. Because when you lack of this certain characteristics your business would go down easily, as we know settling in a single idea could not let your business progressive. Thus, firmly believe that I have possessed such tremendous and badly needed characteristics (not to be assuming?! hehe).

World that filled with competitions, Business world is a like a war, but only a war of mind, yeah mind because when you are in business you need most of your brain to create something that could make your business unique to every business around the world. Back to my proper reflection, as I have the have the results of somewhat entrepreneurial, I came to realize that is not only the money that evolves in being an entrepreneur, you may be against with my idea but you see money is really needed to start up business but also you need to have the characteristics of being a good entrepreneur like what I have stated above. But I almost forgot to declare also being respectful. Respectful, it is a characteristic that an entrepreneur should possess because being respectful to other you let them fell that you cared for their well-being that would result to better progress of your business. Being respectful would also bear better relationship towards other people, especially when it comes to business, customer and employees. As we know business without customer is no business at all thus this statement may also be apply to employees. Because without building better relationship with other elements of business, which are the customer and employees, the business you are up to will be worthless for as we know that can be productive when handled with respect to individual. The earlier characteristics that are mentioned above will go to waste or will be nothing or cannot be process without this certain character. That I undoubtedly believe that I possess, but you being when others are NOT respectful to you, they are just showing that somehow you have a certain attitude that they don’t have that’s why they are acting way not to professional. Anyways, because when you think of money in every transactions rather done the well being of customer and employees your no good at all, with this actions of yours may lead to the destruction of your business. This is what I have observed in one of well-known fast-food chain here in the Philippines. Because they have value there customer and employees they have stood still in the business world. I have known this because I am part of this food chain. They value there employees for they know that without them there business could collapse and same also with the principles in terms of customer relation. Not only that they value their employee and customers, they also care for them (as what I have seen and observe during my daily duty in that certain Fast-food chain). So being an entrepreneur is such a big honor and not only that being an entrepreneur have you had a great responsibilities on providing the daily need of the business and not only that but for your employees and customer soon. Entrepreneurial, is where the epitome of what you have learned from the fast or observation on the environment applied. This is where everything you intend to do something great and extra-ordinary to change your life. A way to brighten and your rightful path to success, because what as one of my mentors told us that you may take IT course and could finish and become a professional in your desired field but our economy has still need to improve. Desired job are unreachable because as what she said “Marami kayong gra-graduate bilang IT professional but open jobs for an IT’s are quite few, so why settle on that when you can also take another things that might help you succeed in your fight to live the life you want to be”, thus it comes to my mind that Entrepreneurial is another way to achieve our goals in life. Well then, good luck as we unfold the mystery of our lives. Being an Entrepreneur or not is for us to decide.

1.What are the factors that contributed to the success and failure of Steve Jobs as a technopreneur?

Steve Jobs, frankly speaking this was my first time to know this awesome guy. Because the only guy that really knew is Bill Gates, but not that quite just a little information about him.

Now, according to some of my conducted research and with this movie, he his surely a very rich man and not just that he is also a smart and one of a kind.


Now, after viewing the movie I could say being a positive thinker, persistent, by having future outlook and risk-taker has attributed great to his success. You see, Steve Jobs and his friend started from nothing and yet ended up to something good. Because Steve Jobs, desires something that could make people acknowledge him as successful person. With this desire he struggle to become one. He never loses hope and never ever thinks of giving up even when slight difficulties come to him because he wants to change his life, build or create something that can help other people’s life more convenient. He always thinks positively in every outcome of their works. Also the movie shows what kind of risk he took just to fulfill his desires or dream. And most importantly is his ability to get the attentions of others (not the literal meaning of the phrase), or his ability to convincing other people like what the movie showed. With these factors, he soars up high and reaches his goal but still he continue to create more favorable things that being desired by others.


Ø Positive Thinker- having this kind of personality in us is a great in our daily lives. We humans are surround by tons of problems like financial, pollution, studies, love, family and many more. But because we have this personality in us we never give up so easily and either let our problems reign amongst us. This personality is what I have seen on Steve Jobs, you see in the movie there are times that Steve plans didn’t work he never lose hopes. Because he strongly believes that there is always a solution to their problems.

Ø Persistent- which I strongly believe that Steve has in his self. Persistent is the act of continuing to persist what you want. So in this movie Steve is persistent to do what he desires most and what he undoubtedly believe is right. Because of this he surpasses people that are greater than him.

Ø Having a future outlook- this king of personality is very common to us people. This is where we enable our self to us or to picture us in the future. This is what I have seen in Steve in the movie. Steve has a future outlook on his self in he future that’s why he wishes to fulfill it. He actually did reach his goals and even made his self more successful.

Ø Risk-Taker- a very unique personality of a businessman. Where he gambles everything that he owns just to make it make more progressive and productive. In the movie it is showed that in the very first part of the movie Steve possesses this traits in him. For he gambled his self in the progression of their works. Which totally bears wonderful events on his life.



These are the factors that contributed to the success of Steve Jobs.

As we know, in this world there is no such thing as a happy life. Why I said that? I said that because though Steve reaches the paramount of his success, he became arrogant, naïve in away that he disregard the feelings of his employee and he becomes needy, needy that even though he already have new products, which is a highly advance than the first one, he still want to have something more unique. And also he becomes high tempered manager, which is the cause of boundary between employer and employee. And he becomes ambitious; I said that because he wants to sweep away IBM.
Because of this he was easily fooled by Bill Gates, causing great chaos in the Apple Company, and not only that it tore his company down while Gates became rich and famous.

Now for the downing part:

Ø Arrogant- as the movie goes on, Steve has become already reached hid goal but also he becomes arrogant that even his employees are afraid to him. Afraid to be shouted and embarrassed by him. Thus, making him unapproachable by his employee. Even his friend turned him down because of thus kind of attitude.

Ø Naïve- naïve because Steve, as what I said above, he disregard the feelings of his employee. Causing some of them to file a resignation letter and move away from Apple.

Ø Needy- because he wants something more that could take IBM down to its knees. Though Steve has already new tech on their he still desires for a new thing that could make him more supreme than those company that plays as his great competitors. With this unsupplied desires he becomes hungry for new power and new tech that he thinks that could play great role in destroying his enemy.

Ø Ill-tempered- Steve becomes Ill-tempered chairman, where he would shout his employees that will not do what he says, especially that one part of the movie where certain employees could not take asleep without finishing what he wants him to do and when he caught that certain person sleeping he abruptly shouted and embarrassed the poor guy.



These are the reason why Apple Company falls to the hand of Bill Gates the owner of the MICROSOFT Company. And not only that he loses his funded, love and raised company but he also lose the trust of his employee not only his employee but also the trust of the people, who are supreme than him and the worst part is when his friend from college and his only companion in reaching his goal and his colleague on the company resign due for his sudden change of character


2.How do you see yourself as a Technopreneur?

Technopreneur is come from 2 words Technology and Entrepreneur. It means a business that using technology as their business model.
In the movie Steve uses Technology to become fulfill his dreams and also he uses technology to create new ones.
Being Technopreneur students is very easy, as long you know how to use current technology you good to go. The only thing that one must remember is what kind of business you are up to. What product or service is good to market or to establish? Because if you don’t know anything your business will rot. As we know business is a tough field where thousands of competitors are competing to become the best and ony to become the best but to become supreme to everyone.

As a 3rd year student of UseP and a student enrolled in IT elective technopreneurship, I have seen my self as a good technopreneur. Why I sat that? It is because I believe in myself that I could do it. Even though I am a student, but with my experienced in that field I know I could become successful one just as the other people are. You may wonder on that paragraph, but to tell you I am a working student and with this experience of mine is my great edge. The edge that could help my self attained my desired in life. This is due to I have been exposed to people. Not only that ,but being a IT student is my greatest edges for as we know technopreneur uses technology as a initial capital.
Technopreneurship opens great opportunities to as youth of generation not only youth but those who are indulge in technology. We can earn money while studying and some are while working. These are possible with our technology. Blogs, being content writer, opinion giver to international companies and many more, these are few things the technology can help us earning money.
Me as a technopreneur, let see though I have said it earlier that I am an IT students being a technopreneur would be a slightly tough because even though I am an IT student my knowledge about technology area quite bad but it doesn’t mean I am not capable of becoming one. Using computer would be sufficient to fill that missing incompleteness.

Let see how do I see my self as a Technopreneur?
Ahmm.. First I must think of my possible goods, products and services that would be a hit to the public. A place, where I could sell or rendered service and first things first the capital. No business can stand without a capital. With that all set, I could see myself self managing small business, then with all the high income, from small to big one. Then I see myself as a successful technopreneur, successful as Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, they say “ it is not bad to exaggerate our dreams, the only thing matter is how to make it real”. Being an technopreneur is a way that an individual can earn money though it is not his real job. Kind a bet of twisted in there right? In this paragraph, I mean that even as an individual and a newly graduate one, finding jobs are like finding a needle in a haystack on this day. So even if you graduate as an IT, immediate employment is too far to reach, that is what I mean on that paragraph.
My possible attitudes that may help in reaching my goals and also my attitudes that can help my business as tecnopreneurship more productive:

• Open minded- a basic attitude that every people in business should possess, because having this can let you accept ideas that can be very useful in the progress of you business and your relationship to other people in the field of Business.
• Resourceful- in this traits a technopreneur should use resources that are just a hand reach, because no need of new things just a little of CREATIVENESS will do just fine.
• Respectful- traits that should be strengthen by everyone because with this you are respected by other people.
• Learn to listen to other- listening to others would be your stepping stone in creating better relationship to others and soon will lead to cooperation and harmony.
• Down to earth- a trait that can let people around feel that you are an approachable one and they could also feel that your are reliable and a friend to everyone.
• God Fearing- a very good traits, where a technopreneur acknowledge GOD as above all his works and duties and responsibilities.
• Thinking outside the box- this means that when you have a business and you want to earned or you want to have an income higher than you are expecting .So invest or expanding your business is a good idea on having it.
Above are my possible traits or attitude that might help me, to become a successful technopreneur someday and also this could not be possible if I don’t have some qualities that a technopreneur should possess, which are:
• As for now, I am a student that will do well in my studies and other academic activities that would give and help me learn about o the field of study I belong.
• Sharing my knowledge to everyone and helping them.
• Learning more about Technopreneurship is like a door of hope that opened to more opportunities as we go o and take a new chapter in our daily life as students.
• Listening to some advices that would be given by someone who are on that field.
• Being a friendly to everyone is good qualities because we might know when we establish our, those people you have be friend with might be your possible and reliable customers.
• A good convincing a highly appreciated quality of a technopreneur, because when you have convincing power it is not a problem to have great number of customer as you will establish such business that you have in your mind.

3. Would you take the same career path that Steve Jobs took? Why or why not?

Now, in this question?? Let see!!

Choosing path of career is somewhat for me is the peak of life, because it is our own life we are talking in here and we wouldn’t like to see our self in refuge because of wrong path we chose. Choosing our path maybe easy to think and say but fulfilling it is the hardest part as we go on in our daily life. It is right that we choosing our path is a free thing to do but thinking of the so on outcome is like watching horror movies, your heart pump rapidly and a blood rising choice to make.
After watching the Movie Pirates of the Silicon Valley, I was amazes by how Steve Jobs become such successful even though everything has started in a small blue box then to these computers. So ihave come up with this answer regarding to the question being stated above:
If I were to ask my answer is yes and no. (Playing same!! Ha-ha). You may think that I am just joking when I said that I would take the same career as Steve Jobs took and no I will not. To clear your head, I will tell that yes I would take the same part as what Steve took because, who would like to be stuck in low level of lifestyle? No one! Right, I would like to follow what he did because, practically who would not do so? Steve Jobs started from nothing but because of his persistent and desire to obtain his goal he succeeded in his journey. So, I wanted to become like him, as a risk taker and like him never stop believing that he, sooner he will be acknowledge by everyone, to become rich, the employer and every material things are on his hand. Expensive clothes, big house, wheels, and everything that you could imagine. Not only in that reason why I would like to follow the career taken by Steve, I like to take the same path as he took because I want to prove to myself that I could do things that exceeds to my imagination.
Also the movie shows some traits that allow Steve Jobs to attain his goal like:
• Sales Talk- he posses these traits that allow him to attracted possible and big time buyers or customer.
• Determination- This is one of Steve’s traits that he possesses, not an ordinary determination for it was a supreme one because of this determination he achieve his goals step by step.
• Smart- but of course being smart is really a something because how could think of some ways that could help you formulate ideas that would result in something favorable in your side.
• Communication skill – because one must possess these traits for the reason of, having this plus sales talk you can easily attract promising customer.
• Innovative- because he wants to create something new that would satisfy the need of people in technology using some of his made products.
I have said the thing why I want to take the path as what Steve took above now is for no, I would not!.
I said no because of one reason, because of his success he become arrogant, arrogant that when his cannot do what he told them to do because of the short period of time given to them by him, Steve would abruptly shout and embarrass that certain employee to everyone in the company by this he is trying to tell them that he is the boss and they must do want he what them to , without saying a single it. Also for the reason that he becomes an Ill-tempered person, because every time that he comes to his office he is mad as if every day is a problematic day for him especially when his girlfriend met that saying that she is pregnant and Steve is the father of the child, but Steve refuses to accept that fact for some reasons. And also when he caught one of his employees sleeping while on duty he quickly shouted and scolded that person as if he was scolded as a young child. Because of this most of his employees bears a grudge on him and especially when his friend resigned because of this attitude of him. With this action of his friend, everything that he tiredly built falls to the hand of their competitor Bill Gates, who fooled Steve and other. He loses his everything got fired from his work and everything gone wrong in Steve’s life.
Above are the reason why I said yes and no if I were to ask if would take the career path as what Steve took. Because who would seriously took his paths if his attitude towards his employees is like that. Who would you think would like to under with that managing style. Being bossy and having this negative traits can really cause big problem especially in the relationship between employee and employer, not only that it would take a great effect in the production of the company, it would result to low income, loss of customer and lastly it would cause failure of the company. That is how I would never follow such traits that I know that can cause problems. Success is a good part on Steve and not only for Steve but for all Businessman not just a good part but a very excellent one but this success would turn to nothingness if you as a leader changes your style in mingling with you employee. But in the last part of the movie, Steve Jobs change, change in a sense that he rebuild his relationship to his employees and he strengthen up his self to goodness.

Yepey.. Interpersonal Skill na!! ahahah.. Ang pinaka-aabangan ng lahat ng IT at CS students ma pa Day man o ma pa EVE man. Ito kasi ang unang araw o pangyayari na ang dalawang bigating grupong ng IC students,ang EVE at DAY na magsama-sama sa dalawang natatanging mithiin ang magsaya at makisalamuha sa ibang grupo.

Ang kaganapang itong ay isa ring paraan upang mawala o mawaglit sa sa isipan ng IC students ang tinatawag na GAP. Ang gap na ito ay ang rason kung bakit minsan hindi nagkakasundo ang dalawang panig o di naman hindi nagpapansin sa kadahilanang hindi magkakilala.. Pero may ibang DAy at EVE students, by any chances ay nagkakilala at ang mabuti pa ay naging magkaibigan.

Maraming mga kaganapan at activities ang nailunsad kabilang dito ang seminar tungkol sa mabuting paraan ang pakikitungo sa kapwa at ang pagiging mabuting leader, mga katangian na dapat taglayin ng isang leader at ang responsibilidad bilang isang leader. May munting Team Building din na naganap, kung saan kaming magkakaklase ay ng kakahiwalay at napasama sa DAY class. Naging masayan ang lahat ng kaganapan at boung lobos ikanat'wa ang pangyayari.

Lahat ng ito ay naisakatuparan dahil sa pagsisikap ng aming mga elected Officers at sa lahat ng nagbigay ng kanilang tulong.
